Sell My Business Broker (“we”) runs this website to introduce business owners to independent business brokers and M&A advisors. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • Match requests: type of business, state, revenue and earnings ranges, timeline, reason for selling, broker history, notes, business name, your name, email and phone number. If you complete only the first steps, we keep those partial answers.
  • Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to limit spam (we store a one-way hash of it for up to one hour) and appears in server logs kept by our hosting provider.
  • Messages: anything you email us.

How we use it

  • To review your request and introduce brokers or advisors who fit it.
  • To contact you about your request.
  • To understand demand by industry and state, in aggregate.
  • To prevent spam and abuse.

Who we share it with

We share match requests with the brokers or advisors we introduce so they can contact you. Some of them may pay us for introductions; under some state laws this may count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and you can opt out on the Do Not Sell or Share page. We also use service providers to run the site: web hosting (Namecheap EasyWP), email delivery and a customer relationship management system that receives requests. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads. We do not sell contact lists to data brokers.

Confidentiality of your business

We never publish your request or your business name.

How long we keep it

We keep requests for as long as needed to make introductions and keep records of them, then delete or anonymise them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or opt out of sharing, by emailing info@sellmybusinessbroker.com. Depending on where you live you may have more rights under state privacy laws; we honour these requests wherever you live and will not treat you differently for using them.

Cookies

We set no advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for site administrators who log in.

Children

This site is for business owners and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We will update the date at the top when this policy changes.
